Pabean Beach Bali - Nice Beach and Great Sunrise in Ketewel, Gianyar

Pantai Pabean Ketewel

Pabean Beach is a natural grayish-black sandy beach, shimmering and enveloped with fresh and tranquil atmosphere. In its vicinity is the traditional Balinese coastal village with slower and peaceful rhythms of life. You can enjoy the sunrise with the stunning backdrop of Bali's mountains and also a direct view to Nusa Dua, Sanur, and Nusa Penida Islands.

This spot is situated in Ketewel, Sukawati District, Gianyar Regency, Bali. It's less than an hour from Ngurah Rai International Airport. Drive east to the Jl. Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Mantra in Gianyar, and then take the Jl. Raya Pantai Pabean.

The beach is located on the southern side and just 600 meters from the main road. Parking is available in front of the temple and directly faces the sea, a bit tight, and will be more flexible if you use a motorcycle.

At high tide, the sand is narrow and evens no sand at all. But when low tide, you can walk down the sandy path while enjoying the vast and serenity of the beach with fine-smooth sand, rock reefs and tide pools.

Right next to the temple, there is an estuary from a small stream. Several fishing boats line up neatly under coconut trees with beautiful colors. The beach is usually crowded by locals and still less visited by tourists.

The waves here are big and strong, it is advisable not to soaking or swimming. Some surfers are often seen surfing here. In addition, the beach is close to several surfing spots such as: Ketewel, Biaung, and Keramas.

This place is also a nice spot for pre wedding photo-shoot. At low tide, this is ideally suited for calm and quiet beach themes, with neutral feel of grayish-black sand, rock reefs, and soft light reflections from natural tide pools. This is also fused with the backdrop of crashing waves, blue water and the island of Nusa Penida from a distance.

Aside from its potential, this beach needs more care so that visitors can feel comfortable. There are no eateries or stalls (warungs) on the beach, no place to buy water. This beach is less shade, and hot during the day. It is advisable to visit in the morning or afternoon when it is cooler with soft light.
