Last week I went to a beach that was said to be one of the hidden gems in Kediri Tabanan, the Nyanyi Beach. This was my first time visiting and was really fascinated by the beauty of nature and vegetation along the access road to the beach, also the panoramic view of the stretched black sand, lush meadows and so many cows roaming around. For me, this is an amazing miracle, hopefully it will still be the same in the future.
This beach is still natural, a long arch of a beautiful sparkling-black sand. Visitors can enjoy a direct view of the Indian Ocean, the holy temple Pura Gede Luhur Batu Ngaus on the east side, traditional fishing boats, lush meadows and amazing sea cliff formations. This is a lovely place for a peaceful escape and sipped the fresh air.
The beach is situated in Nyanyi, Beraban Village, Kediri, Tabanan Regency, Bali. This beach is easily accessible by car and about an hour from Ngurah Rai International Airport.
Drive north to the Jl. Raya Canggu in Canggu Bali. Then continue on the Jl. By Pass Tanah Lot and take the Jl. Pantai Nyanyi. After passing the BITDEC Bali School, the road is rather damaged, you have to be careful and pay attention to other riders.
Follow this road until you reach the end by the beach. Parking is directly on the roadside, there is no specific area for parking. There is a stall next to it selling snacks and drinks, perfect for taking a rest and relax while enjoying the beautiful panorama.
The parking and food stall are rather high with the beach below. Around it is a vast meadow and you can explore it while enjoying the panoramic view of the beach and cliffs from high place. From the parking you will descend few steps until you finally sets foot on the black sand of Nyanyi Beach.
This beach is tucked up between two well-known beaches, Tanah Lot Beach (west) and Mengening Beach (east). You can see the beauty of the beach rocks and Pura Gede Luhur Batu Ngaus perched on a large boulder that jutted into the sea. There is also an estuary from one of the major rivers, the Jeh Poh River. This beach and the river are fun fishing spots and are worth a try.
At low tide visitors can explore the sea cliffs with beautiful rock formations at the west end, a lot of screw pine on the cliff. This is a popular photo spot but you need to be careful. You can walk along the beach with white sea-foam and reflected light on the wet sand, while taking pictures with cliff backdrop and golden sunset.
This beach is far from the village residential and there are not many villas on the beach. You will go through a traditional countryside with a calm and peaceful environment. The residents here are still active as farmers and fishermen. Visitors can find fertile rice fields and also several traditional fishing boats on the beach.
I always hear birds chirping in the trees along the access road. The farmers are look busy, hoeing the land and burning rice straw. There are also those who are busy with their tractors.
I felt so fortunate to see the farmer who was running a tractor and accompanied by a flock of white egrets. This bird is called, "Kokokan" in Balinese. Almost everywhere the farmer steers his tractor; egrets always follow him in groups from behind. It looks so special with the beautiful setting of rice terrace and marigolds.
This is a hidden surf point and many surfers come here to enjoy a fun surfing experience. This is also one of the best surfing spots around the area along with Tanah Lot Beach (Nirwana) and Kedungu Beach. This is recommended for beginners up to advance surfers. This spot offers fat and powerful waves. The best time to surf here is on dry season from March till October. When the wave is working, it will be crowded by surfers.
This place is also hosted the Pelangi Tabanan Kite Festival. This is a kite flying festival, especially for Balinese traditional kites like Bebean, Pecukan and Janggan. Visitors can see dozens of colorful and varied kites filling the sky during the festival.
This spot is less touristy, and not many people know about this place. This is a great spot for a weekend getaway with friends and family. This spot can be an alternative vacation during the peak season. Visitors can enjoy the time with children, walk slowly or playing sand but keep an eye on them.
Visitors are usually crowded during the afternoon especially by locals, while waiting for the sunset moment. The ATV and horse riding activities are often spotted here. This spot is good for morning yoga, beachside jogging, biking, bring your dogs for walks or bonfire activity. The beach is widely used for wedding photography with nice settings of black sand, sea cliffs, screw pine, meadows and stunning sunset.
The beach is not recommended for swimming. Every visitor is expected to be careful because the tide here is very strong. During high tide, all activities in the water should be stopped and stay away from the beach.
This spot offers a rural atmosphere with a slow and relaxed life, away from the hustle of the city. You will be accompanied by beautiful panorama of rice fields with beautiful vegetation.
Plots of newly irrigated land looked like a mirror with a simple thatch-roofed shack next to it. You can find farm animals like ducks that are clustered in the fields. In addition, many cows roam the meadows and sometimes the herd descends onto the beach.
This is indeed a hidden gem, where people come to enjoy the quiet and peaceful atmosphere. The big wave crashes onto the beach shore, delivering the white sea-froth into the black sand. You can spend time looking at the blue water, relax on the low-laying smooth sand, enjoy the sound of waves and cool sea breeze.
In addition, you can try to immerse your feet in the water, walk slowly on the frothing edge, take photos and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere at the edge of the sea. The beach is situated on the West Coast of Bali and is endowed with a stunning and romantic sunset. This creates a relaxing vibe, rejuvenates your body, and refreshes your soul.
