Berawa Beach is one of the famous surf spots in Bali and has attracted many surfers to get a fun experience riding the waves. This is a low-laying dark sand beach with nice seascapes, beachside cafés, lush greeneries and peaceful environment. You can enjoy beautiful views of the Indian Ocean, Kuta, Jimbaran and the Bukit Peninsula in the distance.
This spot is situated in Tibubeneng, North Kuta, Badung Regency, Bali. Drive north through the Jl. By Pass Ngurah Rai Street to the Jl. Batu Belig in North Kuta. Follow this road, then take the Jl. Berawa Beach and you have found it.
The spot is less than an hour from the Ngurah Rai International Airport. You will pass through several intersections, and it would be better to check the map beforehand. Plenty of souvenir shops lining along the main road. Narrow parking, using motorcycle is a better choice.
Surfing In Berawa
This great surf spot set on a peaceful coastal along with traditional Balinese village, slower life and cool clean breeze. There are still fertile rice fields on the vicinity but not much. On the southern end there is a large lagoon that directly flows into the sea.
The spot offers powerful and fat waves. Many spots on the beach to rent surfboards also take the surf lesson. This spot is situated among the best surfing spots such as: Batu Bolong Beach, Old Man’s, Echo Beach (Batu Mejan), and Pererenan Beach.
This spot is located on the West Coast of Bali, one of the popular spots among surfers. There are three surfing spots: the Ledge, the Peak, and the Bombies. This spot also offers night surfing. The spot is recommended for intermediate up to professional surfers.
The best time to surf here is during the dry season. This spot can be too crowded when the surf is working and a lot of competition also accidents. Do not expect too much to get waves entirely for yourself and be more careful.
Aside of surfing, this is a great spot for picnics, hang-out or chilling your day. The atmosphere here is calm away from hustle and less hawkers. You can spend time here while playing soccer, boogie boards, kite flying, sunbathing and walk the dogs. Plenty of sun-bed and parasol for rent. This spot is not recommended for wading and swimming.
This spot also offers an amazing sunset panorama. This is a nice place to have drinks after daytime surf, sitting on the sand and watching the sunset. Many of stalls and cafés on the beach selling chilled drinks and coconuts. You can relax and enjoy the fresh nature, a laid-back feel with beautiful panoramas along the coast.
