Batu Bolong Beach is a long arc of grayish-black sand beach and has attracted many surfers to catch some good waves. This is one of the best surf spots on the West Coast of Bali and is blessed with scenic sunset. You can also enjoy the breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean, Berawa Beach, Seminyak, Kuta and the Bukit Peninsula in the distance.
This incredible spot is situated in Canggu, North Kuta, Badung Regency, Bali. This place is easily accessible by car and less than an hour from Ngurah Rai International Airport.
You can reach it through the Jl. Sunset Road and take the Jl. Raya Canggu. Then continue on the Jl. Pantai Batu Bolong. Follow this road for about 10 minutes, and you have found it. It would be better to check the map before you leave.
There is wide parking so you will not have trouble parking near the beach. There is also a holy temple, the Pura Batu Bolong. This holy temple is devoted to Ida Bhatara Segara. Balinese came to pray for safety and harmony.

The best time to surf here is during the dry season. This spot is recommended for beginners up to intermediate surfers. This spot tends to attract many surfers, both beginners and professionals, and this can be too crowded.
You will find many surfers waiting for the perfect wave. The bottom is a mix of rock and sand. It offers mellow and fat waves, not so powerful. The wave can give a long ride, nice for beginners and also long board.
You should not expect too much to get waves entirely for yourself. When you see good waves, there will be some surfers around you and do the same thing you do. This is a bit dangerous, and you have to be careful.
You can come early in the morning when it's not crowded, but it might not always work. Other than surf, this spot offers a relaxed atmosphere, a nice place to hang out or picnic. Plenty of cafes, eateries and food-stalls to rest or fill your belly.
You can rent sun-bed and parasols while enjoy the scenery, blue water, have some beers, observe the waves or watching the surfers. The atmosphere is calm with a slow rhythm of life. The sunset is amazing, covered the coast with relaxing vibe and romantic atmosphere.
